The Engagement Session with Taylor and Lucas at the Historic Plantation in Charles City, Virginia

Taylor and Lucas are to be married at Shirley Plantation.   An engagement session is a beautiful part of their love story.  So what better place to create this engagement memory.

Shirley Plantation has multiple buildings on the sprawling estate which sits on the James River. As I walked around before the session started, I jotted down mental notes for their wedding of how to incorporate each building, nook, and each ground slope into what will be a stunning wedding.

We had a lot of fun walking around the grounds with Taylor and Lucas.  This lovely couple was super easy to photograph.  It’s easy to see from the pictures, they are a perfect couple.

We walked around the house, front, back and sides.  We even found a cellar. (See picture) A tree covered driveway is a photographers dream.    It’s a beautiful natural frame for any photo.

The staff at Shirley Plantation were great!  They gave us insight to the historic significance of the grounds.  Taylor and Lucas became the next page in the history of such a beautiful estate.
